It's been rumored for awhile now that David Weber has sold the movie rights to Honor Harrington. If this is going to happen then that's a very cool thing I think. Actually there is a bit more truth than rumor to this as there is already a production company involved. Although it has not gone beyond the Staff level it does seem that it's gonna happen.

There is no information yet at IMDB but Yahoo Movies has a short list for Cast and Credits.

So, what do you think about this? I find it very hard to envision 11 books worth of info being placed in a 90+ minute movie myself. So, how do you see this movie being made and who should play Honor Harrington herself?

Me? I think it should begin when she first takes over the Light Cruiser Fearless and quite possibly Geena Davis or Allison Brooks Janney should play as Honor. They both stand 6 feet tall.

I think Famke Jannsen would be fabulous for the part.

Yeah, just a tad. And she's fairly large as well, as Harrington is described..... I love you

I ran across an interview with Weber and one actress that I know that is not in consideration is... Angelina Jolie. Wonder why?

By the way, how far into Honor Harrington have you've gotten? I don't want to post any spoilers for you.

Just finished the 2nd book. I'd imagine Jolie is too expensive.

If you don't have "A Short and Victorious War" let me know and I'll e-mail you the book.

Here's the book cover for ya and the total ship counts for Manticore and Haven.

Just let me know what you need. I have all the books on Word as well as the book covers. By the way I'm just a little over 75% complete with book two.

Actually this will my third re-read this year. I discovered this series a bit late actually. I read the Prince Roger series first, last year. I actually started with Basilisk Station about this time last year and was so thoroughly hooked.

That little instance of when Honor smacked Houseman really sets up how she is treated by the Lords for the rest of the Series. I find that Honor just doesn't truly know how things are done. She just continues to plod her way through things with amazing outcomes.

Hi I'm new to this form, but I had to join just so I could put in my two cents worth in. as for who should play Honor in my mind theres only one actress that comes to mind...Chrisma Carpenter, she played Cordilla Chase on BtVS and on Angel, then played the Seer on Charmed. at the start of OBS (On Baslisk Station) we meet to woman named Captain (jg) Honor Harrington. a very tall dark haired woman in her earily 40's (though she looks 25) Google her for Images, also for later how bout Hallie Berry for Queen Elisibeth?
