Has anyone noticed that the really and truly great Sci-Fi and Fantasy Novels that are the "Must Read" of today have actually been written nearly twenty some odd years ago? I mean, The Wheel wheel of Time, Honor Harrinton, The Shannara Series, Tolkien's The Hobbit (1926 by the way), are all making the scene today.

True. Although only the first Shannara books are 20 years old.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. I had never heard of Shannara until about two years ago. The original series grabbed at me when I first saw the book. I don't even remember how I got into the series. I thought it was brand new, same with The Wheel of Time.
