| Hobbit's del Toro to Direct Every Movie Made Until 2017
By John Scott Lewinski Guillermo del Toro is now signed to direct every sci-fi, fantasy and horror film conceivable within the realm of human endeavor -- or thereabouts, according to Variety. Already involved with Peter Jackson in writing and development of the two upcoming Hobbit films, the Hellboy helmer has a deal with Universal to direct several big-name genre titles -- including another remake of Frankenstein, a version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and an adaption of the Kurt Vonegut time-travel novel, Slaughterhouse-Five. He's also connected to films based on the unfinished Charles Dickens novel, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and H.P. Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness. Throw in the occasional rumor of a Hellboy TV series or a segment in the Heavy Metal sequel, and del Toro might want to consider cloning himself lest he work himself into an early grave and become the ending of one of his own spooky narratives.
